From 19 to 23 April 2017, the third KINO DER KUNST film festival will be held in Munich's museums, cinemas and galleries. This event bridges the gap between typical film festivals and art exhibitions. It exclusively showcases films by visual artists. The central topic is the newest techniques of fictional narrative with a special focus on an artistic view of the rapidly changing present. The programme of the International Competition includes long and short films by visual artists from around the world. It is accompanied by exhibitions, panel discussions, a special collaboration with the (currently under construction) Supermuseum M+ in Hong Kong, a chance for young talents to pitch their works as well as a symposium dedicated to the topic of "Archival and Restoration of Art Films". Altogether, prizes with a total value of € 45,000 will be awarded. Submissions for the International Competition can be made online until 15 November 2016.
