Grand emotions in a far future, adapted from the surreal settings of a 1970s science fiction movie, or the exceptional state of physical weightlessness – the videos, performances, and photos in Nadja Verena Marcin’s (born in 1982 in Würzburg, lives and works in New York und NRW) first solo show in Munich serve as archetypes of human condition. In “ZERO GRAVITY” the artist floats far away from civilization through a 1979 Rockwell Commander and recites Nietzsche. Three female monarchs wage war against each other between a castle garden and precast architecture in “TRIPLE F”. In her works investigates social interaction, examines power structures and pinpoints hidden aspects of gender roles.
