Karen Irmer‘s photo and video works deal with atmospheric moods, and are characterized by a highly aesthetic, restricted visual language. The video entitled “Breath“ shows a view into a clearing in the middle of a forest. It presents an apparently still scene with mystical, poetic character so that the atmosphere of the image itself becomes the plot.

Bianca Kennedy‘s video works, “Dear Tub“ and “Sonar Songs“ show the mundane bath as an object imbued with emotion. A “place of tranquillity“, as Bianca Kennedy describes it. The human body appears almost weightless in the water. The artist focuses on the person and their emotional and physical relationship with this place.
