The enfant terrible of the Los Angeles scene is one of today‘s most striking artists in both art house and pop-rock. Trained as a classical pianist, she creates a musical synthesis inspired by the style of the 1980s, with “crackling guitar solos, shimmering synthesizer sounds and sexy lyrics”. She achieves this by working with outstanding producers such as Chaz Windus in Los Angeles, Fred Ball or Sam Dixon in London as well as Emery Dobyns/Eric Spring in New York. Actually transforms pornography into pop, as did the legendary Traci Lords, whose 1995 album 100 Fires is often seen as a prototype for Actually‘s music. With her shows and performances, the underground artist is just as at home in Hollywood‘s Cheetahs strip club as well as at very official art institutions, e.g. in 2011 as part of the SSION Mega-Show in MoMA PS1. She has presented her short film trilogy SoftRock at a number of venues, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Following the screening of her film Heavenly Sin at the HFF AudimaxX, Actually Huizenga will give a live performance during the KINO DER KUNST night at the Rote Sonne Club.
